What is a Discord Timestamp?
A Discord Timestamp (or "Magic Timestamp") is a special code snippet that displays time dynamically for everyone who sees it.
Unlike writing "Event starts at 5 PM EST", which confuses users in other time zones, a
magic timestamp like <t:1624444444:F> will automatically show as:
- 5:00 PM for someone in New York
- 10:00 PM for someone in London
- 6:00 AM (next day) for someone in Tokyo
This eliminates confusion and ensures everyone arrives on time, regardless of where they live.
How to Use the Generator
- Select your Date & Time: Use the picker or click "Reset to Now" to start from current time.
- Choose your Style: Look at the styles table. Do you want a countdown? Use "Relative". A full detailed date? Use "Long Date/Time".
- Copy the Code: Click the "Copy" button next to your preferred style.
- Paste in Discord: Paste the code directly into your Discord message, channel description, or bio. It will look like code at first, but once sent, it transforms!
